Caprilla offers an immersive and completely bespoke wine experience at our private estate in the heart of Tuscany. Surrounded by vineyards and olive groves, this is an opportunity to experience wine where it begins — in the landscape, the vineyard and, ultimately, the glass.
Stay Among the Vines
Our Tuscan villa provides the setting for your retreat amidst our own organic vineyard and olive groves.
During your stay, you'll have the opportunity to walk through the vineyard and learn first-hand about the cycle of the vine, the viticulture and the realities of growing grapes and making wine in Tuscany. We'll share some of what we have learnt from tending our own vineyard — from the decisions made throughout the growing season to harvest and winemaking.
We also produce our own cold-pressed organic extra virgin olive oil from the estate's olive groves, giving you the opportunity to discover another tradition deeply rooted in Tuscan life.
And, of course, there will be plenty of wine to taste. Guided tastings at the villa will introduce you to different grapes, styles and producers, including some of the wonderful wines made across Tuscany.
Explore Tuscany
Part of the pleasure of a Caprilla retreat is having time to explore independently.
The estate is ideally placed for discovering the hilltop towns, vineyards and landscapes of central Tuscany, with celebrated wine areas including Montepulciano, Montalcino and Chianti within easy reach.
We will create a personalised self-drive itinerary based on your interests, recommending wineries to visit, beautiful towns to explore and some of our favourite local restaurants along the way.
After a day out, return to the villa, relax among the Tuscan hills and perhaps put your newly acquired wine knowledge to good use over an evening tasting.
Your Retreat, Your Way
Our retreats start from3 days/ 2 nights and can be completely tailored to you. Whether you want to immerse yourself in wine, combine wine with food and sightseeing, or simply enjoy a beautiful Tuscan escape with a little wine education along the way, we'll create an itinerary around your interests.
The package can also be easily combined with a few days in Florence (1.5 hours away) or Rome (2 hours away) for a longer Italian holiday.
Private Groups & Corporate Retreats
We also create bespoke retreats for small private groups, celebrations and corporate offsites.
For corporate groups, the vineyard provides a fascinating setting in which to explore subjects such as sustainability and the impact of climate change on agriculture and winemaking — alongside tastings, local experiences and team-building time together away from the traditional office environment.

WHEN
Wine retreat stays are available from early May until the end of October.
WHERE
Accommodation for groups of up to eight guests is available at our private Tuscan villa. For larger groups, we work with a selection of nearby hotels, with wine tastings and other retreat experiences taking place at our estate.
EXPERIENCE
